CRA Issues Warning on Mail Scam
(8/25/2010) Some Canadian taxpayers have recently received a letter claiming to be from the Canada Revenue Agency which indicates that the Agency has received “insufficient information“ needed for the processing of the taxpayer’s income tax return. It then asks for information regarding personal bank accounts and passports.
The CRA has issued a press release warning taxpayers that the letter is fraudulent and should be ignored. See the CRA notice, together with a link to a copy of the letter.
